THE Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) refers to the recall of Simplicity Inc baby cribs in the United States. These cots were manufactured in China and are the latest in a string of problematic consumer products that have been taken off the market lately. �

According to reports, one million of these cots were recalled after at least two babies became trapped and died. More than 60 incidents involving these cots have also been reported.�

CAP calls on the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry to inform the public whether these particular cribs are being sold on the Malaysian market and, if so, whether a recall has been initiated. �

In such cases, the manufacturers or distributors should give their customers a refund. �
