KUALA LUMPUR: Motorcycle buyers who already have a safety helmet need only buy one helmet and a safety vest, said Transport Minister Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy. �

Under the proposed new Road Safety Act, it will be compulsory for people who buy motorcycles to buy two helmets as well.� �But if they already have a helmet, they can buy one helmet and a safety vest, which makes the rider more visible to other road users,� Chan said here yesterday. � �I understand that most dealers are already giving one helmet free when they sell a motorcycle. This practice is most welcome and encouraged.�� Chan said that Road Safety Bill was already in the final stages of drafting and would be tabled in the coming session of Parliament
